i need a digital camera

I need a digital camera - any suggestions? I’m thinking something along the lines of a high-end (of course) Sony. Possibly one that could even do video. I’ve got so many pictures I need to take - my car when it’s clean, my new server rack (ohhh yea), the apartment, etc.

ohhh yea, and how about pictures of Kara and Brett’s wedding??!

Definitely that too!!

I will break down and post….the Kodak DC20 (I hope that is the right model number) is nice.

I am also looking for a digi cam so lemme know how it goes!

wooohoooo! Another poster - rock on! ;-)

Yea, but what about this sucka?! Ok…so it’s a little expensive…

Easy there killa —- $1700 for a camera —- whoa!

I am thinking I want one that reads on floppy disks and not those stupid memory cards — I have TONS of floppies :)

/me hates floppies.

This looks like a cheesy site, but it is the most thorough I have come across. Great reviews of many different cameras. Check it out! http://www.steves-digicams.com/hardware_reviews.html

sorry about making you copy and paste the link.

not a prob. :) I should make some kind of markup language so you can easily insert links and whatnot…

Yeah Damon — get with it will ya :)
Anyway — the only thing floppies are good for is digicams ;)

I’ll have to cast a vote for no on the floppies. The memory cards are nice, they give you 256+ MB of storage space - I don’t even remember what floppies have, I think like 1.4 MB, or something even more medieval. That’s good for maybe 1 good hi res pic or 25 or so low res ones. Plus, after a year or so of sitting around, floppies’ brains tend to disintegrate. And then you can’t trust them. Nothing like going somewhere, taking a bunch of photos, and going home and having your ‘puter tell you it can’t read the disk. Use the floppy to cover your hot tea while it steeps.

OK there are some good anti-floppy points raised — I guess there is good reason floppies are so much cheaper than memory cards!
