seethis is what bugs me

See…this is what bugs me about debit cards. I can go to nearly any store with my debit card. Depending on whether I hit the credit button or debit button I have to do one of two things.
1. If I hit the credit button, I have to sign a little slip of paper verifying my identity…even though it doesn’t get properly verified.
2. If I hit the debit button, there is no verification whatsoever. I swipe my card through their little machine, put it back in my pocket, get the receipt and walk away without them even seeing my card.

It all seems a little too convenient these days…

quite convienent….I don’t like it much. i often wish i never got a credit card.

Interesting —- I will give you one better — the signiture rubbed off of my worn card and when I hand it to cashier’s they NEVER asked for ID (in NYS) —- they seem a little better about that in this part of IL — guess not in Chicago tho!

Seems like I am always getting carded now if I hand my card to cashiers — but anyone can go to Walmart or the supermarket and go on a shopping spree —- so that’s the price of convienence?

even better… I wrote “SEE ID” in big bold permanant marker letters across the signature strip on the back (which over time has rubbed off save above said markings) and in over a year of use only 1 individual asked to see my ID.
