Password Management and Collaboration Suite

Shoot - I forgot the root password on my Sparc box. I guess that’s what I get for not turning it on for a few months.

The reason I decided to turn it on is because I want to install Oracle’s new Collaboration Suite (CS) on it and play with that a little bit. CS is Oracle’s new groupware solution and they are seriously gunning for Exchange with it. And from what I’ve heard, they just might succeed. Oracle has published numbers of CS being able to severely reduce the number of servers typically required by Exchange to support the same number of users. Rock on Oracle!

Dreams you can feel

I was busy passing out on my recliner today, when all of a sudden I felt a buzzing at the back of my neck. Right up near where the medulla oblongata is. I didn’t make much of it at first as I was still out of it, but as I lay there it seemed weirder and weirder. Almost as if I was being told something. That’s where the oddness ends though. Nothing was awry…

How very odd.

Walking

I did a lot of walking today. I rode the train into the city, walked to work. Walked back to the train. About a mile from the train to work. That’s not the worst though. I decided to head home early, so I caught an early train betting on the fact that a cab would be waiting at the train stop like they usually are. Well there wasn’t one. So…seeing as how I had no way to get home (since I took the bus to the train)…I walked…3 miles. I know, it’s not huge - but when it’s 28 degrees and windy outside, it gets annoying after a little while! I have to try to go play some futbol now, though.

Sleep

Still so much to do, so little motivation, not enough hours. I curled up last night on the floor on a pile of ethernet cables…there’s one for the archives. ;-)

I’ve been enjoying downtown, though. Granted, I’ve only been riding the train and walking about a mile, but it’s still not bad.

Which OS are You?
Which OS are You?

I was at least hoping to end up being a Debian like kita.

How pathetic that those who want free music don’t believe in free speech

RIAA spokeswoman Amy Weiss said in a statement. So, Amy, does free speech mean reaching down the throat of ISP’s and forcing them to reveal their customer’s who downloaded mp3’s? If you didn’t hear, the RIAA won a case where the judge ordered Verizon to disclose the identity of somebody who downloaded one too many songs. And the RIAA wonders why they’re website keeps getting obliterated.

Government

The State of the Union is on - time to play “Find the politician without the Flag of America pin”…

Randomness

Blargsnot - and that’s all I have to say about that. Bring out the punching bag.

Wow - what a day! I left my apartment at 7:10am this morning and just now returned at 11:25pm. *thunk*

well it seems my isp

Well, it seems my ISP has permanently blackholed my IP. I guess it’s a good thing I moved everything over to John Companies. I’ve been very happy with them so far.
