I want a mac

I never thought I would see the day, but I want a mac. I want a G5 Powerbook, and I want it now (too bad they’re not being made…yet). I want a stable Unix operating system with the most beautiful user interface ever to grace a bourne shell. I want to be able to press F9 and have all my open windows displayed as a thumbnail, ala Expose. I want extensive documentation at-hand as to how to script every aspect of the operating system. I want to be able to walk out of a room and have my screen lock when my bluetooth cellphone goes out of range. I want something I have yet to experience for more than five minutes at a time. I want a mac. I want OS X.

Have you gone and built your own dream ‘puter?

I can’t seem to keep mine under $15,000 :O/

Drat - that just gives me a session timed out error, but yes, I do have trouble keeping the Dual G5, G4 Powerbook, and OSX Server under $15K. ;)

Hrm…time to make emoticons work on my site…

OS X is nice, but be sure to prepare yourself for the "beachball of doom" !!!!!

Maybe it’s because I upgraded from OS 9 on the same system, but the spinning "beachball of doom" practically cuts my productivity in half every day. Boy, I really love giving the computer simple commands, like switching to default foreground/background colors in Photoshop and having to watch the "beachball of doom" spin for minutes on end. Although I’m sure Jaguar or Puma or Meercat or whatever the next "os x fix" is addresses this. (That’s another thing, I like having to buy a new operating system every 6 months just so Apple can bundle a bunch of bug fixes and name it after a freeking cat). Hmmmm…I’m starting to sound bitter….?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but this is NOT the first time you wanted a Mac….you drooled over the Titaniums and G4s didn’t you?

PS
Maybe its my resolution, but the font in the comments screen is kinda small :P
Love the changes though!
